It doesn’t take a genius to realise that one of Hollywoods hottest actors has recently been a little, well, off the boil.  I am of course referring to the legendary Johnny Depp.

When you mention his name it’s difficult to remember that this actor, that has graced us with so many inspiring performances, has yet to win an Oscar and yet some of his recent performances have felt just a bit lackluster.  Has he been bored?  Is he preoccupied?  Who knows but there are plenty of people out there wishing and waiting for him to receive a much needed boost back to inspiring so we can see him at his quirky best once again.

The time, it seems, has come.  Watch this:

Frankly, one of the most scary and creepy looking characters I have seen for quite some time.

Representing the real life character, Whitey Bulger, this film depicts his true story as a prominent leader of organized crime in South Boston.  Does this feel like a character that Depp should naturally gravitate toward?  Heck no!  This seems a very unusual casting on face value until you see him in action!

This short clip alone is brilliant, scary and acted sublimly by Johnny Depp grabbing in an instant the sheer terror that this infamous character can create.

The story, based on the book, “Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob”, looks compelling and interesting and one that ultimately looks very watchable.

What looks like a gritty, no holds barred film due to release in November 2015 is surely a must watch for the heavyweights it brings to the table, Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Johnny Depp and more…
